Having a makeup artist on set can do big things for the production value of something your filming. Everyone looks like they’re ready for Hollywood, and that will boost morale throughout the shoot. When filming, it is important to make sure the lighting is right, and if not, to modify or improve its effect on whatever it is your filming. Poor lighting can leave a production feeling dreary and rather cheap, so it’s best to have the light looking as professional as possible. The absolute same principles go for the audio recording. You want the absolute best quality recorders and booms, and you need to get as close to the subject as possible in order to get the best recording. You never know what might happen during the recording, so it’s best to record from multiple sources so you have sound coming from multiple perspectives to use in post-editing if needed. Lastly, you should take proper care of your equipment. It will last you a lot longer, and it will save you a lot of money.
